My beloved’s I pray you’re well, looking after yourselves and your Beards! Brothers, I want to talk about something, which I have wanted to talk about for a while … better out then in as they say. My Bearded Stallions, I want to talk about having a day off during the week.
Many (including myself) see the dream working shift as a Monday to Friday 9-5pm. Not every job, gives their workers such luxury, it’s part of life I suppose. Many of us dream of that Saturday Sunday chill, but for some it’s a distant dream.
So brothers, when this doesn’t happen, you have to work on Saturday and Sunday and worse still you get days off in the middle of the week! Weird I know. Now, the middle of the week is designed for working not days off!
The middle of the week, when you’re not working, it’s like a parallel universe. Turn the TV on and it’s Good Morning, Loose Women and The Chase for example or even Diagnosis Murder. This is a far cry from the weekend (not talking about the singer).
Nope on the weekend, well it’s cooking programmes in the morning, Football focus for the early afternoon and Final Score in the late afternoon. If you venture out, when it’s not lockdown then you will see all the shops open and open past 5pm too, but not on Sunday! (supermarkets)
Roads are busier in the middle of the week and there’s minor traffic jams during the day. If you go to the shopping centres like Trafford Centre for example, they’re strangely quiet too, which is very weird. One of the strangest things of all with midweek working, is that you wake up and you have to tell yourself, yes today is a day off!
I am not sure which wise guy invented weekend working, but it’s shaking the working world as we know it. It’s just blatantly rude that one can be in work when Football Focus, Final Score or any football match be on. As know brothers football matches tend to be shown on the weekend.
Most of us are like work Dracula’s, I say that because it’s surreal for us to be not in work during the week, we can’t be seen out during the week. I think there was a reason mid week working was thing, it was to save us from Good Morning and Loose Women, fellas.
I will finish with this, my Bearded Stallions, I wouldn’t wish mid week working on anyone … not even a clean shaven guy or my worst enemy (which is what I just said).
