Hello, good afternoon my Bearded Beloved it’s me Ayyaz Malik aka The Bearded Captain, leader of all Beards and flag bearer of all Beards on digital and digital broadcasting media. I am that Beard who tries to make people laugh and I am that Beard who tries to make people smile.

Brothers, we need to talk, about food, to be more precise Tim Hortons. Beg your pardon, I hope you’re well, looking after yourselves and your Beards! Tim Hortons, a Canadian coffee shop, has some similarities to Mcdonald’s, but they have some things better than their American counterparts.

In comparison to ‘Maccies’, it can be said ‘Tim’s’, is well behind in terms of stores and brand image in the UK, but I want to challenge this. When I was growing up, it appeared that on every road there was a Mcdonald’s.

Maybe this is still the case today, but what I will say is that Tim Horton’s are making some strides. How I hear you ask? It’s simple, they appeal to all customers, as they have halal items on their menu.

Their chicken burgers and beef burgers are both halal. Brothers I have tasted both, hence why I am here. The price point for a chicken burger meal is a bit out. At £7.50, in the Manchester market, places like Miami, Cluckerito and New York Krispy are better than it.

But it wasn’t bad. The chicken was juicy and succulent. Yes, it wasn’t prepared the way Miami’s does it, but it doesn’t make it terrible, the size of it did. In the current climate, value for the buck is necessary and sorry Tim Horton’s, two chicken burgers would equate to one chicken burger.

The bun was well prepared and on the whole was a pleasing on-the-eye burger. Now to the beef burger. This was weighty and had some meat to it (no pun intended). This nearly finished me off, but I and my stomach clung on to fight another day.

Last but not least, the chicken tenders. They should have been called mini tenders. They were tasty and breadcrumbed like the chicken fillet was, but it was a big letdown. One bite and they were done!

So based on my overall experience of Tim Horton’s, they have certain elements that are better than Mcdonald’s, but they have some way to go. The vegan sausage breakfast option is a massive plus.

I am astounded that Mcdonald’s doesn’t do this in their breakfast meals. It’s over and out from The Bearded Captain.
